The next big thing will not be a device. What I believe will be the next big thing is a global network system of super-infrastructures that will provide a always-on access to the internet and cloud services regardless of where you are in the world, at any time of the day.
As we can see in the present age, smart phones are ubiquitous. What are aiding people’s life though, are the apps that are in the smart phones—the apps are the key in making a phone actually smart. However, apps are susceptible to hinderances due to downtime connectivity issues, or when we are in rural areas where the network is unreachable.
Another problem arises when we travel. Even though available, the current network infrastructure becomes costly and unaffordable for prolong usage for lay people. To the cost-conscious people, their smart phones suddenly get “downgraded” till they can find their next free WIFI.
When the age of a global network system of super-infrastructures dawns, it will become the backbone of true accessibility that will also empower low to average income users to comfortably tap on.
You will never be lost in your next great adventure.
